We Just Got A Waldorf Iridium Core!

Well folks, after getting our hands on the Iridium keyboard and MK2 desktop at Superbooth this spring, we were bitten by the Iridium bug, and we knew we just had to get our hands on one!

So when it came time for us to mosey over to Sweden to visit family, we figured a trip into the EU was as good a time and place as any to get one!

The full size Iridium was too large for us to take on a plane in a carryon bag, and the keyboard was a nonstarter cause it’s just too dang big. So the Iridium Core seemed like the best compromise for size, space, and features. The 12 voices versus 16 wasn’t ideal, but we figured we could still make killer sounds on it.

And after a few months of hunting, and waiting for a good deal, we scored one off Reverb from Musicom in Spain, they got it delivered to us up in Sweden a couple weeks later, and we are now halfway through our first Trance soundbank for it!

You can expect tons of classics, deep cuts, and more obscure but super epic patches on that bank, and there will be many more soundbanks to come for that mighty machine!

Which will be even more awesome than we originally planned, as Waldorf just released a beta OS update for the Core that expands it to 16 voices, so now we don’t have to make as many compromises in the sounds we design!
