Traverse 2 Trance Soundset for Novation Mininova & Ultranova
Traverse 2 Trance Soundset for Novation Mininova & Ultranova
94 uplifting Trance presets, compatible with the Novation Mininova and Ultranova hardware synths. This soundbank is 100% Trance-oriented, which means no weird brass, pianos, or FX. The patches in Traverse 2 come straight out of songs written using the classic Nova and Supernova series synths. So this soundset is designed to fully exploit the Mininova and Ultranova’s 18-voice polyphony, 20 modulation slots, and classic Supernova-based sound engines to their fullest potential!
Patches in Traverse 2 are based on sounds from songs by the likes of Gaia, 7 Skies, Mike Koglin, Alphazone, Genix, Bjorn Akesson, Craig Connelly, Alex M.O.R.P.H, Daniel Kandi, Jorn van Deynhoven, Oceanlab, Arctic Moon, Marcel Woods, and many many more!
And to cap off the bank some patches were set to Initial, so you have room to write and store your own patches without overwriting any existing sounds!
Only 3rd party FX used in the demos was Virus TI2 reverb applied to some Leads, Pads, Plucks, and Acid sounds. All other FX are 100% from the Mininova.
Sounds in this preset pack are suitable for the Uplifting Trance, Hard Trance, Tech Trance, Progressive Trance, and Classic Trance genres, and are organized by category into Leads, Plucks, Pads, Acid sounds, and Basses, for quick reference

“I couldn’t recommend these enough. Kulshan made me love the MiniNova even more.” - Derek Oswald, AltWire
“The plucks were the immediate standout. These sit right in that late 90s and early 2000s trance pocket: Cream Anthems or Gatecrasher, big plucks, wide chords. There’s a supersaw width to them that Kulshan compares to the JP-8000, and I feel like that was very accurate. The basses covered rolling basses, offbeat basses, subs, and distorted variants. Some had the Sub 25’s kind of low-end weight. Others favored the tighter, more focused JP-8000 character. All in all, I couldn’t recommend these enough.” - Derek Oswald, AltWire
